Understanding ChatDPQ for Board Directors

ChatDPQ is your guide to help your work as a Board Director.

ChatDPQ can generate text, based on the prompts you provide, including providing great questions to ask regarding specific topics, providing insights on strategic planning, defining terms and offering explanations, generating ideas, and facilitating board meeting preparation.

How to Interact with ChatDPQ as a Board Director

Be Specific: The more detailed your prompt, the better ChatDPQ can tailor responses to your governance or strategic needs. For instance, instead of asking, "What are good questions to ask about board governance," ask "What are good questions to ask about the role of audit committees in non-profit board governance?"

Feel free to provide as much detail as possible when describing a scenario. This will enable ChatDPQ to provide a better response.

Define the Scope: If you're looking for strategic advice, it helps to narrow down the context. For example, "What are effective questions for digital transformation in the banking sector?" instead of just "digital transformation."

Open vs. Closed Questions: ChatDPQ can handle both types of questions, but open-ended questions often yield more comprehensive responses, suitable for board discussions.

Follow-Up Questions: Feel free to ask for more information or clarification on complex topics related to board decisions or policies. You can simply say "more" or "explain" after asking a question and seeing ChatDPQ's initial response.

Financial Analysis: If discussing financial strategies or analysis, provide clear details about the financial models or types of analysis you're interested in.

Understanding Limitations

Accuracy: While ChatDPQ aims to provide accurate information, we can't guarantee perfection. Always verify critical information, especially in regulatory or compliance matters.

Confidentiality: Avoid sharing confidential or sensitive information during your interactions. While ChatDPQ has been built following Microsoft's Responsible AI framework, it is always best to change the names of real people and use fictitious company names.

Respect and Sensitivity: Engage with ChatDPQ in a manner that respects privacy, confidentiality, and ethical considerations, especially when generating content that might be shared with or impact stakeholders.

Microsoft's Responsible AI Framework

ChatDPQ uses Microsoft's Responsible AI framework. Microsoft's approach to responsible artificial intelligence ("RAI") is built around a framework designed to ensure that AI systems are developed and used in a way that is ethical, transparent, and accountable. This framework is guided by a set of principles that aim to address the complex challenges and opportunities presented by AI technology. Here are the key components of Microsoft's responsible AI framework:

1. Fairness
Create AI systems that treat all people fairly, aiming to eliminate biases that could affect anyone based on age, gender, ethnicity, or other characteristics. This involves developing methods to detect and mitigate bias in AI algorithms and datasets.

2. Reliability & Safety
Ensure AI systems are reliable and safe to use. Create systems that perform consistently under a wide range of conditions and that incorporate safety considerations to prevent harm to users or unintended consequences.

3. Privacy & Security
Protecting users' privacy and securing their data are central to AI systems development. Implement robust data protection measures and enable users to control their personal information, ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations.

4. Inclusiveness
Empower everyone, including people with disabilities. The aim is to create AI systems that are accessible to all users and that help bridge the digital divide, rather than widen it. For example, ChatDPQ lets you ask for responses in many languages including many Indigenous languages. As the capabilities of our underlying AI engine improves, additional languages are being added. Another example, you can use the voice input capabilities of your device to put text into the input area.

5. Transparency
Transparency is about making AI systems understandable to users. Commit to providing clear explanations of how AI systems make decisions, ensuring that users can trust and effectively interact with the technology.

6. Accountability
Be accountable for the performance and impact of AI systems. This means taking responsibility for ensuring that AI technologies are used in ethical ways and that there are mechanisms in place to address any issues or abuses that arise. For example, ChatDPQ is built on Microsoft's RAI systems that check for hate, violence, and other types of abuse.
